My computer doesn't show up in network but other computers do

My friend just built a computer and we set up a network
between our computers and when we enter the entire
network, his computer shows up but mine doesn't. This
happens on both systems. I recently had mine networked to
another one of my computers, that I got arid of, and it
worked fine then. Any help would be great

Do you have file and print sharing enabled on your machine?
