hi
i have windows xp
for a long time now i cannot turn off my computer. I can
only restart it or hibernate it. when i choose shutdown
from the menu it shuts down the system and then turns it
on again. I looked up applications and errors on my
compuetr and i'm not sure, but it says something about
kernel driver stub, or wrong network driver. can someone
please write me back, bye

Your computer is getting an error on shutdown which is forcing a reboot.

Click Start
Click Control panel
Click System
Click Advanced
Click Startup and Recovery
Click Settings
Uncheck Automatically restart
Click OK
Click OK
Close the control panel

This will stop the reboot and allow you to see the error screen.
Once you have the error message go to http://www.aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm
for help on shutdown issues.
