When starting 2K Pro, in get a message saying "the is no CD Rom, CD-Rom will not start." I recently had a problem with my ISP's software removing my ability to
CTRL-ALT-DEL among a few issues. SBC support told me to remove their software and I was left with no CD. Fortunately, I use another "door" to gain online access.
SBC also told me the software I am sopposed to use is on the CD used for installation - it does not come on floppies. I don't care about their software, I want to play and/or burn CDs.

You've checked control panel/system for the cd drive?

I did "update drivers" from Device Manager and the
Wupdater just "hung" without finishing on more than 1 try.

I tried this several times. I think I'll have to find a
way to re-install Windows w/o a server to which I could
attach. I have the disks made upon the origional
installation.

Thanks for your ideas David.

I could get my system to boot to the CD, think it is time
to do another install.
