I am trying to capture video from a SOny analog videocam. I have the cam
hooked up via S-Connector cable with an ADS USB Instant DVD capture devise.
The cam is on & capture devise is on but I get an error message that
basically says devise no recognized or no devise connected (sorry I am at
work and can't remember exactly.
Can anyone help me here?

If you have the video capture device connected to your PC and the camara
connected to the capture device then you might have to take another path.

Is this your device?

The capture device should have the option where the captured video is
saved in a video file on your PC. Most likely it will save in MPG format.

To get the video into MM, first capture the video to an MPG file. After that
is done convert the MPG video into a format that MM likes, like wmv or avi.

The above assumes Win XP. If you have Windows Vista you might not have
to do the conversion.

I am having the same problem with a Sony DCR TRV250.The error message I
receive is "Class Not Recognized" This happens when I try to save a video
using Movie Maker. After calling Sony and downloading the driver update,(the
software that comes with the camcorder downloads from a Memory Stick and
model 250 does not use Memory Sticks) I still see the error message as
described above. This happened while I was on the phone with Sony and they
tell me it is a Windows problem, hence the reason I am on this site! Sorry I
can't answer your question as it seems the same as my question.
