My calendar will not let me make or change appointments.

I have gone into "share my calendar" and even tried to share it with myself
but it still doesn't let me add or change appointments. I can print it. I
can also see other shared calendars and make appointments on those but i
cannot make appointments on my own calendar in Outlook. I have XP and
Outlook 2003
