That behaviour is prolly bestowed by a Desktop.ini in C:\ that should
really only be in your Videos object. Or you have video files in C:\
and Explorer's being "helpful", or there's a C:\AUTORUN.INF in effect.

These files may be hidden, so you may have to do this:

Start, Run, enter CMD
Then enter the following commands...

C:
CD \
Attrib -r -s -h AUTORUN.INF
Attrib -r -s -h DESKTOP.INI
Ren AUTORUN.INF AUTORUN.BAD
Ren DESKTOP.INI DESKTOP.BAD
Exit

Running Windows-based av to kill active malware is like striking
a match to see if what you are standing in is water or petrol.

Have you ever set the properties of a folder to a customized setting? You
can do this by right clicking on a folder, selecting properties, and going
to the costomize tab. Under "What kind of folder do you want?" this might
currently be set to Video. If the customize tab isn't present it is
possible that this was done by a piece of software that you have installed.

A sure fire way to make this task go away is to go to Tools->Folder
Options->View Tab and press "Reset All Folders". NOTE: This will reset all
customized folders that you may have created, not just your C drive!
