I got this message

"This Version of Microsoft AntiSpyware has expired as 31 December 2005"

and the MS AntiSpyware not working. Please advice??

There have been many issues on this subject ranging from those who attempted
to update prior to 12/31 and those having problems post 12/31. You haven`t
mentioned which version of MSAS you are currently attempting to use and this
would be helpful in assessing what remedy would be appropriate. If it is .615
then you will need an upgrade to the latest version (.701) which can be
obtained from:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

If you have already done this and you are still having problems then post
again for a solution.

Try this:

Open Windows Explorer and go to:

\program files\microsoft antispyware\gcasSWUpdater.exe
(look for a satellite dish icon)

Double click on that file--which should get you an auto-update prompt for a
new version. Follow the prompts to download and install the new version,
and that should fix the issue.

Thank you bill

I already did that, and the update process started automatically after a few
minutes!

Now it's working fine.

Terrific - glad to hear that process is working for most.

It shouldn't be necessary--and it isn't clear just what is wrong--but it
isn't hard to describe, or do--and it works.
