my AMD says hello ...

After many months, I finally booted up my new 'toy' this evening ...

AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor :
NZXT X61 Kraken Watercooler :
MSI 970A Sli Krait Edition USB 3.1 Motherboard :
HyperX FURY Series 16GB (2x 8GB) DDR3 1866MHz :
Sapphire AMD R9 380 Nitro Graphics Card :
Crucial CT250MX MX200 SATA 2.5-inch Internal Solid State Drive :
Western Digital Blue WD10EZEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5-Inch Internal Hard Drive for bulk data :
Corsair RM750i ATX/EPS Fully Modular 80 Gold Plus 750W Power Supply Unit :
NZXT S340 White Mid Tower PC Case ... yes, it's white!

external DVDRW & 2TB Toshiba 2.5" HDD and using exiting K70 Keyboard & my faithful RAT5 mouse ... not yet attached Cannon printer or me Logitech G29 setup ... oh, and the Logitech C920 webcam.

Idle temps started off @ 8ºC, yeah, 8ºC, it's settled down an is averaging 20ºC Idle ... Load, not done a proper test, but I got it up to 35ºC in GW2.

Graphics idle around 40ºC and went up to 55ºC in GW2 ... Not a good stress test, but hey, it's real world.

Win 10 Pro, upgrade from Win 7 Pro, registered! ... clean install tomorrow, and install the rest of the 'gear' mentioned above.

just as a boast ...

... it's a little cool this morning, ambient temp is 18ºC

... and now

only a shortish test, I just waited till the temp stopped rising.


Now to wipe it all and start with a clean install as Win 10 is now registered to this system.

How does it compare to your previous system - I can't remember what it was now .

yep, case has no 5.25" bays.

Ian, I did 'video', as an added experience, however, I really need some better lighting and need to polish my techniques.

Here is a good vid, I didn't make the same mistake this reviewer did, I mounted the fans the correct way for this case.

I'm quite sure the X41 would be just as good in this case.
