My address book is not recognized Help please

Hi,
My computer recently died and I lost everything. I have created a new
address book in Outlook. But when I am working in Word and try to address an
envelope from Outlook it says that there is "no address" book.
I am using Microsoft Office 2003 and my computer's operating system is
Windows XP Professional.
Thanks in advance for your help,
AnnJ

When you say you created a new addres book, what did you do? Typically you
don't have to create an address book since Outlook will use your existing
Contacts folder as an address book. Right click on the Contacts folder,
choose Properties and go to the Outlook Address Book tab. See if the "Show
this folder as an email address book" box is checked.

Hi Vince,
Thanks for your quick response. I imported my contacts from Excel. I had 2
different address books in there.

Hi Vince,
I just went in and wow it worked. Thanks a million.
I don't know how to change my font on here to make it larger!!!!!!????
So all is good now! I thought I was going to have to go back and handwrite
out all my addresses.
Thanks again,
AnnJ

Thank you, Vince! I got a similar problem after reformatting my hard drive
and reinstalling all my software & files. I fiddled around the problem for
hours, and reading your post got it solved in a few minutes! How this
mysterious flag on "Contacts" got reset during backup or restore will remain
a mystery, but now I know its existence!

Looking forward to your next contribution...
