The other day my "a" key stopped working, I have tried removing the key and making sure nothing is underneath it but that didn't work. I also tried pressing down on the actual pressure pad but still nothing help please.

What sort of keyboard are you using..? Is it for a desktop PC ?Or is it a latop keyboard..?Let us know...

If it's just one key, it's probably going to be a hardware fault - so I'd just replace the keyboard if it's a desktop. If it is a laptop, then that's going to be quite a bit trickier - if you post the model number there may be some replacements available online.

As Ian pointed out..Post the laptop serial number and we can see if there is a replacement part about for you..

Or you could look here and see if they have a replacement for you..

The serial number is usually on the base of the laptop, or can be found on any of the invoices/reciepts/documents you recieved at time of purchase..

Hi Shane, good news and bad news..If just one key is defunct, chances are the whole keyboard is shot..The good news is you can get a replacement and they are fairly easy to replace..The bad news is after a good bit of seraching, they are not that cheap..Teh cheapest I have found yet is £66.00 Here..I'll keep searching and see if I can find owt cheaper on the net..How old is your laptop..? Is it not under warrenty still...?Did you take out insurance cover for it..?

Yeah that would be great thanks, if worst comes to worst I'll just get another keyboard that plus into the Usb. It's about 2 years since I bought it, Theres no insurance and am not sure about the warranty I shall check.

If it's that old, get yersen a wireless keyboard and mouse..You can pick them up for next to nowt nowdays..Would save the hassle of replacing the keyboard..lol and you never know the "A" might start working again..

Cross out the 'a' and tippex in a ' '

Solved :)

Ok, ok, I've had a Guinness or two..... ;)

And I thought I were the sarcastic one on this forum...????

Eh? That's not sarcasm...

Sarcasm generally mocks with low intel observations and remarks.

I just threw in what might possibly be construed as mildly funny as the guy with the problem has now had some good advice.

Bed beckons for sure.....

Night night :)
