Please help. I downloaded my novel from IUniverse, an on demand publishing
house so that I could edit the work. I can not get the 650 page document to
spellcheck or to take two--and turn them into a long dash. Please help.

What does this have to do with FrontPage?

If the problem can be shown to have been caused by a

Have you tried cutting and pasting the text into (say) Word and running the
spell check in that?

If you wrote it in Frontpage (using it like a word processor) that's a
no-no to start with, unless your novel was intended to be put on a web
site.

I tried to do that. It won't even do a spell check if I copy and paste a
paragraph. any ideas?

if it won't spell check in either FrontPage or word, there's most likely
something amiss with your office installation. have you tried help/ detect
and repair and updating (help/ check for updates)?
