Have no idea from your information, it could be anything from you haven't
turned on your computer to installation problems. Give us some information
like error messages, what have you have on your system, if it is installed
and won't launch. Details, details, please.

I have run it before on older computers but after loading
it on this windows XP it doesn't run past the title page,
it opens the CD, shows microsoft on the screen, rainbow
studios, the image directly before the intro video and then
shuts down, doesn't continue at all, just acts like I shut
it down. I tried the compatability wizard and it makes no
difference whatever the setting.

Sorry if this is a double post, but what you need is a codec by the name of
INDEO, I was able to download a free, non expiring codec that included a
video player from a simple Google search. Like
http://www.ligos.com/indeo.htm

That's actually not a free download. It states quite clearly on the web
page 'Indeo XP is available for purchase and download through our electronic
store for $14.95.'

I still haven't worked out why this codec is needed. I've been using XP
since it came out and play Motocross Madness 2 on a daily basis .... without
installing some third-party codec.

The only reason I can see that this would be required is if someone didn't
actually 'pay' for the game. I'm not saying that's the case ... but it's
the only reason I can see for this to be the cause.

Yes, I remember quite clearly playing the game on my first install of XP
without having to get the codec, but I *think* one of the updates, SP1
maybe, changed something, hence, the need for the codec. Oh well, no big
deal, it's free if you just look, I gave you the link in my previous post
for a FREE version. Enjoy :-)

Sorry Keith. My intention wasn't to have a go at you. I re-read your post
again ... and you're quite correct ... you did say 'like "insert link here".
Apologies for the confusion on my part.

I still question the codec though. I have every update available for XP ...
and I've never had this particular problem.

Sounds like something with your install caused the problem. I know a lot of
MCMers on the Zone who use XP and don't have that problem.

Ahhhh, no offense taken :-) But I don't think it was an install problem? I
have done 3 installs of XP with SP1 slipstreamed, and all 3 exhibited this
issue...unless I have a freaky cd? Weird...this warrants further looking
into, but since I only have one copy of XP that limits my options at this
point. Will have to install the game on a couple of pals PC's and see what
happens hehe.
