Excellent proggie. Space saver too in copying screen and saving in a small
jpeg (optional)

Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their
attention. .If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you
and I, and congress and Assemblies, Judges and governors, shall all
become wolves.

I use that to take pictures of naked girls on Yahoo.
I have tens of thousands of caps now.

Slightly off topic here...so humor me :-)

Why all the interest in screen capturing utils? Most of us have a
graphics proggie we love to use and Windows has built-in screen
capturing (print screen and <alt> print screen) Why not just past that
capture into Irfanview or whatever graphics proggie you like? I am not
trying to be insultive, just asking. I am a minimalist, the less
proggies the better. The ones I have need to be small, easy on memory
and do the job well.

<alt> Print screen has always worked...I have seen screen capturing
utils but none of them seem to have anything "fantastic" that I cannot
do with Irfanview and print screen.

HoverSnap version 0.8 is another good one.

http://www.hoverdesk.net/freeware.htm

HoverSnap is a a free handy snapshot tool with jpg, png, bmp and gif
support.HoverSnap can take snapshots of the full screen, active window or a
selected area. It can even capture layered windows (alphablended ones under 2K
/ XP). You can even FTP upload your screenshots !

You can set up the capture folder / filename and format.
You can reduce the capture size.
Auto-generate filename option will add the time stamp (date/time) to your
filename in order to be able to take several captures without having to change
the filename.
Optional sound when capture is done.
HoverSnap is FREE for personal use only !

I screen cap straight to jpg in a pre specified folder, with pre
specified compression and auto named.
Try doing that with PrtSc :-)

I also have the option to capture full screen or section (predefined or
defined on the fly)

And loads of other stuff - some of which I know about, some I don't.

MWSnap is a 1 file EXE, and has many options. It's a purpose made screen
capture utility, and it does that way better than an afterthought on a big
program. My favorite feature is the ability to instantly take and save the
snaps to a specified folder in your favorite format (JPEG), and it
automatically names them. Bang-bang, you're done. No editing, naming,
saving, etc.

I quote everything you wrote: it's a great applet, very useful when I need
to write help files for my software.

Because to hit print screen, switch to another program, crop the section
you want and save it takes about 30 seconds. Hitting control+z with
MWSnap takes half a second so you get more pictures of her boobies. And
while you are dicking about with Photoshop or Paint or something you
might miss a shot of her pussy.
