Hey Guru's (yeah right).

Can't you answer poor Liams question below regarding his
failover scenario on DNS.

Though you guys were good, you seem to be getting a little
slack in your old age.

Hey, I might represent that remark!

I didn't see Liam's question, my newsreader has been slow or the news server
I'm using is slow, but I hope the answer I gave is sufficient.

His question was already answered twice previously to that. He posted this
more than once. Matter of fact Kevin was one of the ones that already
responded. When I see a response and don't feel I have anything to add, I go
on to the next. So seems to be the case here especially since Liam posted
the same exact question 3 times.

Were you aware he posted it 3 times and got responses for his previous 2
posts?

Perhaps Liam keeps posting because he isn't finding his replies - he's had
many. He's using the dreaded CDO interface to the groups rather than a news
client.

If you have nothing to add yourself, I don't really see the point of your
post - remember that everyone in here is volunteering their time to try to
help others. Anyone needing immediate, one-on-one support always has the
option of calling PSS.

Yep. Tash will get the help he deserves, that's for sure.

1) The question's been answered. Several times.

2) MVP's aren't 24 hour robots waiting to answer every plea for help.

3) Some internet users are in different time zones. If a post is
made when an MVP is sleeping, are you expecting them to be
automatically wakened to reply?

4) MVP's have real jobs too. And sometimes the job that pays the
bills requires a redirection of effort away from free support in the
newsgroups.

5) Sometimes MVP's don't know the answer off the top of their head.
Just because you don't see a response doesn't mean they aren't doing
research or working their own private network of experts to get a
response.

And most importantly, MVP's are people too. And like many people,
they may not appreciate badgering by a non-affected party to solve an
issue. And also like many people, MVP's have long memories, and may
decline to help someone who has abused them. Remember that the next
time you need help.
