mva movie files not playing on ppt presentation

mva files in powerpoint

I am using OS - Vista and when running a powerpoint presentation I can view
my .mva (movies) on lap top screen but they are not being projected to the
screen through data projector.
All the other slides in the powerpoint projected. Is there a setting that
needs to be changed or is it the .mva files?
