I have seen the most awesome commercial for honda civic where people (a
choir) make sound effects with their voices.. and there is a place to
download the video but it comes in MV4 file format.. so my question is.. is
that a Windows XP File format? Also can I change the format?

here's the site... http://84.40.3.164/

http://www.honda.co.uk/civic/

normally I would not send
links such as this to a tech group.. but my question is about the extension
... there is a place to download this video... but since it comes to you in
MV4 format.. I guess I can't use it.. any help appreciated.. The link is
worth the view!!! Rainy

Quicktime may play it.
As I believe that is the extension it gives when a file is exported to iPod.

With a suitable program, sure.

So - no one just tried Quicktime like I said?

Open Quicktime, drag/drop the .mv4 file onto it and play.
Yes - it's small - it will not full screen.. It *is* a podCast after all.
But you can play it with the latest quicktime.

As for conversion - I don't know - but I guess you could look at these
forums:

http://videohelp.com/

and ask around if needed.

Hi Shenan, :) sorry I sure didn't see it... I stopped reading after your
comment.. at my age, I do that quite alot... :( I do ask around.. before I
post here, normally I have googled myself silly!

Also about quicktime, it came with Itunes.. and both gave me some problems
so I could not use either one.. I will look again for quicktime that comes
without itunes.. I'm not sure why it gave me errors, but I uninstalled it..
since I know that a bad install can cause serious problems for your
computer.. and having that video is not one of those necessary things, I
sure did want it though.. :)

thanks for sticking with me.. it's appreciated.. Rainy

Wow, not only does it work.. the video is quite large.. starts out small,
but all you have to is expand it.. and the mv4 is not only large but crisp
and very clear.. very impressive.. makes me want to go out and buy a honda
civic! :)) Thank You!! so much!!!! . this is awesome!!! Rainy

I downloaded the rehearsal and got a buffer overrun error.. is that Quick
time, my computer, or the MV4? Please, what can I do about it.. thanks
Rainy

I beg leave to doubt.

I typed the three characters M4V into Google and immediately got
plenty of useful links. I find that awfully hard to reconcile with
your "googled myself silly".

Hmm.. My comment?
I have to know what that was.. My original response was two sentences..

"Quicktime may play it.

iPod."

"I have to know what that was.. My original response was two sentences.."

Yes I already said I was sorry...

You have to know what that was? What?

when I went to the link you posted.. http://filext.com/ I put MV4 in the
search.. and it came up oops! it's not in the database. so I don't know
what you mean it worked for you.. also just tried it and got the same
response at that site... .

I also googled and got some french sites, and a place to purchase it! So
then I went to the link, but I did respond and say that quicktime worked..
and I do appreciate it.. Rainy

shame on you for calling me a liar.. I entered it in a file ext place and
all I got was oops... I saw a lot of what looked like French sites.. and
also a place to buy it... apparently you are having a bad day.. :(

I did not post any links originally.
I did in a later response.

I have included the parts of the thread above that you and I participated
in..
As you can see, I never posted anything about fileext.com. I never said "it
worked for me", etc.

I think you are confusing myself and Stan Brown..
I assure you - we are not the same person. *grin*

Now that I know that QuickTime can play it.. (Yes I downloaded it and
installed it) I really don't need to convert it.. it works great..
appreciate all the help.. thanks Rainy ps. and by the way not only does it
play full screen, it's very clear and crisp... awesome in my opinion! what
a nice thing not to be the same person with anyone.. yes I might have
confused that.. sorry again.. :)
