Im trying to set up an PPTP VPN server behind a firewall
that allows pptp and gre packets to pass through it via a
mapped IP. The server has 2 network cards. The LAN is on
a 192.168.50.X subnet and the Internet based Subnet is
192.168.1.X ( this being connected to the trusted port on
the firewall.
When a PPTP client connects with RRAS configuted use DHCP
the client recieved an IP address from the 192.168.50.X
LAN but pinging the an address on that LAN does not work.
If RRAS is configured to use an IP range of 192.168.1.X-
192.168.1.Y then pinging does work to this subnet. Anyone
any ideas why the DHCP option does not work although an
IP address is recieved from the DHCP server? . I suspect
it is to do with IP routing.
