Hi,
I have a small network of 400 computers and 2 domain controllers with
windows 2003 server standard. I have been having some DNS and browser issues
which I have been trying to troubleshoot. The technical people I use have
attributed most of the above issues to the 2 domain controllers being
multihomed. The servers have been multihomed since I migrated to server 2003
with AD and have worked for 2 years without issues.
My questions :
1 Does anyone currently use a multihomed setup in a single domain scenario?
2 Would it be advisable to use single IPs f or the DC's and will it then in
effect help resole some of the issues I am having.

any valid tips/advice is most appreciated
cheers
Richard

Do not run two nics in a DC.
Get rid of the second nic in them.
You only reason it worked before was because you were just plain
lucky,...now life has caught up with you.

Assuming two subnets:
Yes, I run multihomed DCs. One with two actual NICs, each on a different
subnet, and one virtual (VPN) adapter. But you have to take care of issues
that will pop up, like DNS resolving the IP address of the wrong NIC.

If you have 2 NICs but could use just one that would be the easiest thing.
Why do you have multihomed DCs?
