Must Open "My Network Places" to use Printer

I use an XP Laptop at work. To use a certain network printer I must go into
"My Network Places" and go through several nestings. A "User Name" and
"Password" dialogue box appears. The password line is left blank, but I type
in the proper user name, click okay, and then, and only then, am I able to
print to this printer. Is there any way to stream line this procedure?

Contact the Network Administrator, seems they need to reset permissions on
the server end.
