My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:
I am about to switch to direcway and would
like feedback as to problems(issues) accessing
mm playlists via dw. I am particularly concerned
about the direcway fap. Would listening to a couple
of hours of mm playlists within a 24 hour period violate
the direcway fap?
Are they streamed? I don't know anything about the MusicMatch site offerings
but I do know DirectWay has absurd FAPs. Take a gander here:
http://www.wildblue.com/aboutWildblue/qaa.jsp
They just put their satellite up earlier this year, the price is "right" for
me, and the FAP that they have doesn't do things like cut you off but rather
sets you to a limit which isn't really that bad. (See their FAP for more
information.) Their limit is monthly and is started at 10,000 MB/month
before they slow you down. As you increase package options it reaches the
20,000 MB limit which is pretty impressive and probably more than you'll
stream after the first couple of months of enjoying the bandwidth.
Beyond that you should be aware that while your speed is going to be much
improved you will notice a lag if you do any real-time gaming or chatting.
The lag isn't really that bad but because the packets must take a rather
extensive trip up and back down just to hop on a backbone there's going to
be a lag. If you're coming from dialup I dare say you won't complain about
it too much.
Anyhow, if you're playlists are streamed to you via the web it's going to
eat away at your bandwidth. A couple of hours of music is going to be
wasting your bandwidth. Perhaps another option is to consider the MSN Music
which enables you to download and play your music on your PC and a vast
number of devices.
