I am looking for a simple program, into which I can copy 1-6 bars of
music (preferably with just a few mouse clicks), which will play back
the refrain. I do not want high quality just simplicity.

Any suggestions?

I eventually found this - "Finale Notepad"

www.makemusic.com

a little bloated (4Mb) more complex than I would have liked. Despite
the minor nags, it appears to be a very good free music composer.
Better than some of the shareware offers.
