I've created a slideshow for my in laws anniversary and all the music works
great until I make an autorun cd. Is there a way to fix it?

How did you make the autorun CD? Did you use the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer?
If so, what version of PowerPoint are you using?

If you are using PowerPoint 2003, then use the Package for CD function.
You'll find it on the File menu. If will correct any links that might be
breaking and it creates a very nice package that just needs to be burned to
a CD.

If you are using PowerPoint 2002, then probably your links are breaking and
you'll have to correct them in PowerPoint and create another CD. See
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm.

If you are using PowerPoint 2000 or 97, it could either be that you are
using the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer, which has a bug in it, or if you are using
the PowerPoint 97 Viewer, then your links are breaking. For the latter see
the link above.

I'm using Powerpoint 2000 with the 2003 Viewer. Should I uninstall it and
try the 97 viewer?

No. The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer won't play her music since she created the
presentation in PowerPoint 2000. It's a big bad bug, with no fix!

Yes. The PowerPoint 97 Viewer will work. The PowerPoint 2003 Viewer will
not. It doesn't play video and audio automatically or across slides if the
presentation was created in PowerPoint 97 or 2000. There is no fix for the
bug, so the only convenient thing to do is switch to the old Viewer. You'll
like it better anyway. <G>

thanks, I'll try that

That wouldn't help with videos, which are impacted by the same bug. I
prefer to recommend that people use the PowerPoint 97 Viewer, which performs
perfectly for PowerPoint 97 and 2000 presentations, *and* is doesn't have
the limitations that the PowerPoint 2003 Viewer has, e.g. splash screen,
EULA agreement required on first use on a system, won't allow links to run
programs.
