I really don't believe anyone will respond, but since
Microsoft really has no support here goes:
Well, with that as your opening, I'm tempted not to respond.
You've
obviously not been to this newsgroup before, as if you had, you'd know that
we do try to respond to all posts.
I can do a presentation with a CD for music background.
But when I try to create a presentation on either my hard
drive or on another CD, the music won't transfer to the
presentation in either place.
This is because PPT is linking to the music from the music CD. When you
remove the music CD from the picture, there's nothing for PPT to link to. If
you want to use the music on a *different* CD -- one with the presentation
on it as well -- you'll have to use a sound editor software of some sort to
"rip" the music track to create a sound file on your harddrive so it can
travel with the presentation. If your music CD is a commercial CD, you need
to be aware of copyright law and any copyrights which may be in effect on
that music track. (This is why PPT isn't going to roll up a music track from
a CD and include it with a presentation -- too much potential for copyright
violation there.)
Once you have a "stand alone" music track, then see the "sound advice" link
at
http://www.echosvoice.com/gotchas.htm and
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00155.htm for info on the sound links
breaking.
There is no answer in troubleshooting - of course. Feel
free to send response to my email. Thanks
?? I don't understand the first sentence. Re the second, responding via
email defeats the purpose of a newsgroup, which is that everyone can benefit
from the exchange.
