Hi. I'm not getting anything when I select a sound ("Arrow") from the Slide Transition window & run the slide show. My visual transition effect works fine, but no sound. (No, the volume isn't turned down!) I have to get this presentation done next week -- someone please help. Thank you

Just to clarify -- my objective is to play music throughout the presentation, not the arrow sound at the transitions. I was just testing and once I get it to work, will find a music "wav" file to use.

One way to do this is; from the first slide go to insert > music from file >
locate the .wav file you want and tell it to play automatically. Then if you
don't want the speaker icon to appear in your presentation, just place it
off to the side of the page.
You'll have to make sure the wav file music is as long or longer than your
presentation, if you don't want it to cut off.

Try this instead. On the first slide, go to Insert > Movies and Sounds >
Sound from File and locate your WAV file and click OK. When asked if you
want it to play automatically, click on Yes. Then right click on the sound
icon, select Custom Animation from the drop down menu. Then it depends on
the version of PowerPoint that you are using. In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003
you click on the sound object in the Task Pane and select the Effect tab.
Se it to Stop Playing after 999 slides.

It worked! Thank you very much for your help -- you've taken a load off my mind.

Just one minor glitch that I can work around if I have to: I set the music file to start playing 0 seconds after the previous event, and the slides to automatically advance every 3 seconds. On the 1st slide only (where the music file is actually inserted), the music doesn't begin to play until just before the slide advances. So after starting the slideshow, you get almost 3 seconds of silence, then music & the 2nd slide almost simultaneously. But the rest of the slides work fine

Thank you again.
