Hi I'm new at this. I just recently started using Windows Movie Maker and
would like to put some music with my movie but all the music I try to use
won't work.
I've tried mids and ive tried music that I've gotten from CD. When I try
mids I get a message saying ( The file J:\My Mids\watermak.mid is not a
supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker.)
And when I use songs downloaded from CD I get this (The file C:\Documents
and Settings\Pat\My Documents\My Music\My Music\Only Time.wma is protected
using digital rights management and cannot be imported.)
Where can I get music that will work?

Try the following link for some info:

In the left pane...go to...
Importing Source Files / Digital Rights Management.

Midi files do not contain a sound font...they
only contain the musical notation. (That's why
the files are so small)

With some experimenting...the freebie at the
following link will enable you to combine your
midis with a sound font and covert the files to
..mp3s. Then you can use them in Movie Maker.

TiMidity CD Quality Midi Player/Converter
http://www.newfreeware.com/audio/1583/

After the program unzips at C:\timidity......
open the folder and read the TimiditySetup.txt
file...it explains how to use the program.
timw32q.exe will launch the program.

If you point the program to a folder that
contains several .mid files...it will do a
batch conversion of all of them.

There are several thousand player piano
midi files that can be downloaded free
from the following site.

Sorry, I checked the Timidity link and
it's apparently no longer available.

There's some info on Midi at PapaJohn's
site at: Importing Source Files / Music
and Audio.

Hello Grumpy

My name is "Grumpy" also,

and there is another user called "grumpy"

also a "GrumpyGit88"

So much for MS Newsgroup software only allowing unique usernames. :(

ps: just type grumpy into the newsgroup search box and you will find all you
"Gumpy" cousins. :)

All the "Grumpy" users are on the Windows newsgroups, there are no "Grumpy"
users on the Linux or Apple newsgroups, I wonder why. LOL :)
