Whilst I can add and adjust music clips successfully in the timeline, I get a 'bleep' sound in the transistion between clips during playback. How can I avoid this?

Graham, thanks. I use MP3 and WMA. The music clips themselves play perfectly. I get the bleep sound when the music clip ends and when next clip (not music or narration) starts.

I'm running out of ideas!!!

Have you read and perhaps tried this piece of info from papajohns site on
audio issues,

2/11/04 - ... I was doing some background reading on the DV format and came
across the following paragraph: Although the format supports high quality
sound, DV's audio is unlocked. This non-synchronous design means that a
specific number of audio samples are not rigidly synchronized to each video
frame. If one frame is off a couple samples, you must insert a short mute at
any audio edit or risk inducing an audible click. (source:
213.84.219.66/Documentatie/dv_explained.pdf )

It made me wonder if the phenomenon is a result of the way audio is encoded
within the DV format, and the way MM2 handles it? I know that the MM2 edit
space is not the full 25fps (PAL), but something more like 12.5fps (or 15fps
NTSC), so I wondered if this could somehow lead to the audible pops that I
hear at cuts and transitions.

I had a similar problem with video segments on one video. It wasn't bleeps
but distinctive clicks. My solution or fix was to save each segment as an
..AVI file and import them all into a new project then bring them all down to
the time line and then save that as an .AVI file. The clicks went away. I
can not explain why the clicks were there or even if the above will fix
anything.
