Hello to everybody,

I got a problem with one of my win2000 advanced server.

The pc is an hp netserver lc2000r. At a moment the server
stop responding. The server didn't startup again and So
after a a few boot a discovery that the system halt on the
load of the mup.sys driver. I tried to find out something
on the web, but nothing that explain how to solve the
problem.

Does anybody find out the same problem?

Does anybody found out any solution for this kind of
problem?

Any suggestion will be really appreciate.

Thank U in advance for the help

Max,

I think you're misdiagnosing your problem.

It sounds like you're booting to safe mode or with boot logging, and you've
noticed that mup.sys is the last driver listed, and you're therefore
concluding that this driver is causing the problem.

That's faulty logic. The list of drivers on the screen is printed by ntldr
as it loads the boot-start device drivers. On many machines (particularly
those without AGP slots), mup.sys is the last boot-start device driver in
the load order and is therefore the last driver printed on the screen.

After ntldr loads these drivers, it hands off control of the computer to the
kernel. The problem on your machine is likely during kernel startup and
likely does not involve mup.sys.

Unfortunately, that doesn't help you resolve the problem, but I don't want
you to be chasing red herrings here.
