I don't have a wireless mouse or keyboard, they seem rather
useless to me because I have to sit close enough to see the
monitor anyway. But just a suggestion, check the mouse
driver setup to see if there is any channel or coding
options.

You might look in device manager for channel setup.
You might get an automatic channel selection if you
uninstall the mouse from one, turn the other computer and
mouse on, having them close enough to get signals crossed
and install the second device, it might be smart enough to
detect the other signal and switch channels.
What brand or brands of mouse do you have and how old are
they?

message | No I mean they are on different machines (1 upstairs and 1
| downstairs), but they appear to be on the same channel, so
| when the upstairs one types it appears downstairs etc.
|
| Presumably they should be useable in multiples as they
| have a 'connect' button, which if they were all designed
| the same surely they wouldn't need!
