Steve

I installed Service pack 2 and all of a sudden I cannot
have multiple windows in my Internet Explorer unless I
select open new window. The problem comes when I follow a
link on a web page... such as a news story on my web
page. What usually happens is the window that had the
link on it dims and moves to background as the new page
is highlighted. Instead the first page closes completely
and I have to start all over agin to go read another
story. Please help I can't figure it out and I'm going
nuts.

Open Multiple Windows In IE

To keep more than one browser window open at a time, click File in the main
menu, select New, then Window. To close a browser window, click the X in the
top right-hand corner or select Close from the File menu. You can also open
a new browser window with Ctrl+N.

And...

You may have a program running which is blocking pop-up windows-
something like Yahoo Companion, Google toolbar, a firewall, Earthlink (or
another) pop-up blocker, etc. You'll have to uninstall the program or turn
off the feature that's blocking new windows.

With some programs of this type, using Ctrl+click or Shift+click will allow
a new window.
