Hello

Over the weekend I heard there were multiple versions of XPE. Is this
true? I thought MS had windows CE and windows XP embedded. I did
not realize there are different types of XP embedded. If there are
different versions of XPE, where is it documented?

JD

XPe, XPe+QFEs, XPe+SP1, XPe+SP1+QFEs - that is all I can imagine for the
moment.

All documented on http://www.microsoft.com/windows/embedded/xp/.

Hello Konstmo,

Thanks for the nobootgui option.

I'm not sure we are tallking the same thing. I'm talking about
different families. It sounds like you are talking about different
versions as in release date. For instance XPe versus XPe+SP!.
I do not know what QFE nor does that URL give me a good reference.
When I put QFE in the search on that page, it gives me Quick Fix
Engineering Updates for wince.

Totally Windows Illiterate,

There are only two versions of XPe.

First Version without SP1. (obsolete)
And version with SP1.

Also there are CE, NT etc, versions but they are not XPe.

John,

SP1 is just Service Pack 1 for XPe.
There are QFEs for XPe (with and without SP1) as well as for CE. You can
think of them as MS patches to corresponding OS.

You may have heard of NT Embedded, the predecessor of XPe.
I believe you will need to be focusing on XPe with SP1 only.
