Does Remote Desktop work when the computer is logged on without locking?

Also can I log on to a computer using a different account when someone's
logged on already?

Hi Chrino,

Currently, MSFT has not allowed for more than one user to use the machine
at the same time. If their session is inactive, you can log them out
remotely.

Windows XP Pro would be so much more useful for families if MSFT would
license Windows XP Pro to support two graphical sessions simultaneously.
Maybe they could consider allowing the following scenarios:

1) One Local User & One Remote User
2) Two Remote Users

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Below is a message I posted to "Microsoft.public.windowsxp.general":

I really like the Remote Desktop feature found in XP Pro (we have it
installed on our home computer and have a broadband connection with a static
IP address). My wife and I use it a lot when we are away from home,
however, there are times when she is at home using the computer and I am at
work and need to access a file from our home computer. She doesn't like
getting kicked off when I log in We would find it extremely useful if XP
Pro supported two users at the same time. I know that it is possible to set
up a Terminal Server using Windows 2003, but that is too costly for our
needs. Is there any possibility that Microsoft will have some sort of
"Terminal Server-Lite" for XP Pro? I understand that they need to keep
there products differentiated in order to encourage people to buy the right
product for their needs, but maybe by only supporting two simultaneous
users, they will still leave the market wide open for Server 2003.

Good Luck!
