I would like to set up multiple user accounts, but cannot find good instructions beyond the basic instruction

Is it best to install all software programs, then set up multiple user accounts; or is it better to set up the multiple accounts and then install the software

I would like to set up the administrator account for installing software and configuring the system, then have the family all use a general user account. I would like the general user account to start up without having to enter a password when the computer boots up. The MS Knowledge Base seems to indicate that the only way to get a password-free boot up is if there is only one user account active

Steve,

You can have multiple user account and you don't have to have password for
them. But each individual user will have to option to have their profile
password protected.

As for installing Software on the administrator account and everyone being
able to use it, it depends of software to software. Some software during
install will ask you if you want "that" application available to just the
current user or "All Users" on that computer. Go with installing the
software first and then set up the user accounts.

As for how to setup user accounts:

To open User Accounts, click Start, click Control Panel, and then click User
Accounts and go from there.

Hope this answers your question,

Gurjot
