Yes, and no.
Multiple people can view the same file over a network, but only one of them
will be able to modify it. PowerPoint does not identify if you are not the
user with write privileges at the time the file is opened. There are also
issues that spring up from opening a presentation file across a network.
A better solution would be to have multiple users that are going to view the
file, copy the PPT file to their local hard drive prior to opening.
PowerPoint does a lot of source file referencing during a presentation.
This can create huge amounts of network traffic that may eventually lock-up
the presentation.

If you will have multiple editors, then break apart the large presentation
and assign each user a smaller section to work on from their local hard
drive. Then re-assemble the sections back on the server.
