Multiple time zones in a calendar item

I'd like to be able to enter calendar items that span multiple time zones, for instance, airplane travel from one part of the country or world to another. A flight from the midwest to the west coast can appear to take only 30 minutes because the departure and arrival times are published and, therefore, entered in Outlook in local, time-zone specific time.

It's even more ridiculous when traveling from Asia to the US -- you arrive before you left!

Is it possible to put a time zone on an appointment time?
thanks,
karin

Karin,

No chance in Hell you can do this. The Outlook developers believe that
nobody ever leaves Redmond and ALL versions of Outlook are absolutely
terrible for travelers.

Ever notice how you can't even set an all day appt, then change time zone,
and expect that appt. to stay as all day instead of spanning 2 days? I mean,
c'mon, that's a basic requirement.

Ever notice how mtg. requests will fail if any of the recipients are on
different timezones or time formats?

I wish there was an alternative.

There are alternatives. Go look.

As the original poster of this item, I'm glad to know there are alternatives
and I'd be happy to go look for them, but I honestly don't know where to
look. I tried for quite awhile to find something on other parts of
Microsoft's web sites, but ended up in this discussion group because I
couldn't find anything. If you can give me something more to go on than
"There are alternatives. Go look," I'd really appreciate it.

thanks,
karin
