multiple tables, multiple links

Help! How does one link MULTIPLE fields from MULTIPLE
tables to a SINGLE (index) table? Access thinks that
everything is coming from a single table. I've tried
combining the multiple tables into one big table, but this
won't work, because excel (through which I am working) has
a limit of 258 columns. What can I do?

If you want more than 255 columns then you're SOL because that is the limit for
Access tables and queries.
