I was trying to progress in a more methodical manner when
I created this data base. First I made my tables. Then I
was trying to make quaries. I have no forms and have no
data in my tables. So your saying that is my problem,
correct? I can put two of my tables in the QBE grid, okay.
When I put the third, that is where I get the problem.
Maybe I should check the join.??
Umm... if you have no data in the tables then you will have no data in
the Query. That's only to be expected! I'm not sure what you're seeing
and what you expect!
BUT... Forms are a VERY USEFUL TOOL. You're not making the common
mistake of starting with Forms and working backwards to the table
design; but when it comes time to start entering data, Forms are the
next step.
I would *not* try to create a three-table Query in order to enter data
into your tables. Instead, create a Form based on (one of the) "one"
side tables, with a Subform based on the related "many" side table;
you can use a sub-subform, or other techniques depending on how the
tables are related. But it's *much* easier to manage the data if you
use the tools that Access provides!
I scan through answers that are given by John Vinson
because your responses are so easy for us Newbies to
understand. I wish I had all questions and answers you
have given.
<blush> Thank you. That would be a fairly thick stack at this point;
you can go to
http://groups.google.com and find them all, but I fear
you'ld find a lot of it rather dry reading!
