Hello -
I would like to setup a laptop which can connect to
multiple office sites (5+) and therefore different ip
networks. But I would prefer it that the changes to the
tcpip config are transparent for the user as there are
ip/dns and wins changes.

My initial look at hardware profiles in XP to take care of
this looks like the ip config stays the same between
different hardware profiles. Is this correct?

Is there a straightforward way of managing a laptop
startup which has different IP config's for more than two
locations?

many thanks
Gerard

Gerad only other thing i can think of is to buy and
install network card that has profile software functnality
so u can have multipe tcp/ip profiles for one NIC i think
that - Cisco Aironet Wireless LAN cards has this
fuctnality and im assuming other NIC's form other
maufactuers should hAVE IT TO

hth

You may have a solution there - ill take a look at whats
about
Thanks for the help

you may have two options: 1. netsh. 2. DHCP reservation.
