I've given up trying to use multiple Slide Masters feature .
What a mess !!

What happens next is usually anybody's guess .
They come and go at random .
When two masters get 'stuck' on the background of one slide , one of 'em
cannot be shifted !
Presumeably less than 10 minutes went into planning this 'feature' .

I'm not looking for instruction .... I'm complaining .
This shouild be dead simple ... WTF isn't it ???

Am I alone in this view ?
( can't see how I could be )

Chris

Hello Chris,

Sorry to hear you are having some major frustrations - I empathize.
Admittedly, as PPT has more features, it has increased "learning curve." I
can say that the multiple masters feature, for me, is almost one of the most
valuable new features offered. If you go to the SLIDE DESIGN pane and master
it, at least the top section "USED IN THIS PRESENTATION." I am certain
almost all of your frustrations will be solved.

Look into the APPLY TO SELECTED SLIDES and then the REAPPLY TO SELECTED
SLIDES options found by clicking the black triangle/chevron of the slide
design thumbnail.

Best of Luck,

Well, I've certainly not experienced the type of difficulties you have
with this feature. In fact, I find them pretty useful. And I don't
understand what "two masters get 'stuck' on the background of one slide"
even means, as I've not seen anything like this.

If you'd like us to try to troubleshoot, we will, but since you said you
were just complaining, I won't.

when first trying the multiple masters feature in PowerPoint 2002, it caused
some irritation to me, too. You need some hours of experience to make it
"behave" as it should. Especially make use of those tiny SmartTags
appearing, if you copy slides into a presentation.

But meanwhile I am using a template with 19 (slightly) different masters for
our company presentations - and I LOVE that feature. If you tell us a bit
more about the problems you are facing, describe them and we will provide
some help, tipps and tricks.

Kind regards,
Ute
