Hi,

I haven't been able to get a %s seach shortcut to work with IE.

If I put http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=%s into

HKCU,Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL\

I can seach google from the addressbar fine, but how do I construct the url
in the registry if I have multiple search terms/strings within one request,
eg in the following situation:

say my url is http://domain/script?a=f&b=FIRST SEARCH TERM/STRING
HERE&c=SECOND TERM/STRING HERE&d=0&e=0

Thanks

Ian

Hello Ian,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

Based on your requirement, I have no found more similar issues. By default,
Windows uses a random search engine to perform your search. If you want to
specify a particular search engine, you can do so by using the IEAK or by
editing the registry.

You can type "search customization" in IEAK Helper for more information
about how to set the search engine.

Download Microsoft Internet Explorer Administration Kit (IEAK) from here:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/ie/ieak/downloads/ieak6/ieak6sp
1.mspx

Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 Resource Kit
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/ie/6/all/reskit/en-us/part1
/a05ie6rk.mspx

Please note that the software supplied in the Resource Kit or the Resource
Kit Tools download site is not supported under any Microsoft standard
support program or service, including the partner newsgroups. You can,
however, report issues and bugs by sending e-mail to (e-mail address removed).
Microsoft will, at its sole discretion, address issues and bugs reported in
this manner, and responses are not guaranteed.

For additional information about how to conduct searches using Internet
Explorer, click Contents And Index on the Help menu in Internet Explorer,
click the Index tab, type "autosearch" (without quotation marks), and then
double-click the "AutoSearch" topic.

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao

Hi ISmith,

You cannot use more than one search term in the address bar query string. If
you like searching from the address bar you may give Quero Toolbar a try. A
search profile for United Kingdom is now available.
