multiple repeats of secutiry update downloads

My automatic updates keep downloading the same security updates over and over. One of them is 819696...does that matter? I install them and this seems to work, but then they download again

Does anyone have any suggestions

Here is a fix for that but you must type it in exactly

like I put it on here.
Click start and then click run,
In the open box, typ cmd and then click ok.
At the command prompt, type the following commands and
press enter after each line:
ren %systemroot%\system32\catroot2 oldcatroot2
exit
I had this same problem and got this fix from Compaq,
