I need to setup 1 computer that will have multiple constant connections to the internet. I plan to use dsl as my main with a satellite backup, dial-up back up and Wireless PCMCIA card through a cellular company as a final back up. I want all of the connections to remain connected constantly but they do not have to all be combined. I am more concerned with the connection than the speed. How would I go about setting this up

The computer is dual xeon processor, with 4 gigs ram and 292 gigs hd, would the connections I desire require any additional hardware or software

Please send any responses to this board and/or my e-mail (e-mail address removed)

Thanks

Abram

There's really nothing to set up.

When you activate a dial-up Internet connection, it automatically
supersedes all other Internet connections. When you hang up the
dial-up connection, Internet access automatically reverts to the
previous connection.

To choose between the satellite and cellular connections, enable the
one that you want to use and disable the one that you don't want to
use.

If you don't want to enable/disable those connections, assign metrics
to them. Internet access automatically uses the one with the lower
metric, and you can change metrics at any time:

1. Open the Network Connections folder.
2. Right click the desired connection.
3. Click Properties | Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
4. Click Properties | Advanced.
5. Un-check "Automatic metric".
6. Enter a number between 1 and 9999 for the "Interface metric".
