My client has a win2k server and 4 offsite win2k
w/stations who dial in with ras on four
modems.
They can access the shares on the server but the server
needs to also access the shares on
the remotes (their c drives are shared) in order to copy
back some files.
The problem is that the server can only access the c
drive share on the first w/station that
dials in whichever one it happens to be.
The server can ping all w/stations but can only map to
the first one.
Have tried net use i: \\pcname\c and also net use i:
\\192.168.0.20\c in case the dns isn't
working. The first on always works.
The error msg on the server when trying to map to
subsequent pc name(s) is "The network path
cannot be found" and when trying to map to the ip
addresses "The remote computer is not available".
Remember that all remote pcs can be pinged at with no
problem.
