Multiple protection

I have noticed that some posters are running multiple programs that are
doing the same thing, if I am not mistaken. Why is this? and are there no
product that are good enough to have just one....

Correct. One product does not catch them all. The idea is to have two
"On demand" scanners rather than running two constantly.

If your on a Windows Platform with no firewall nothing will protect you and I
wish people would take the time to read up on how Trojan Horses and Backdoors
disable firewalls and anti-virus applications.
