Which versions of Vista will recognize and use an Intel Core Duo or Intel
Core 2 Duo CPU as two processors, assuming, of course, on hardware/BIOS that
is capable of supporting such a CPU?

(I swear I could not find this question addressed in the NG, but I also know
I've read about here before. I probably wasn't using the right words to
search on.)

Vista Home Basic and up, as for two Physical Processors, only Vista Ultimate
and Enterprise.

Think cpu sockets, not cores. The Home editions support one socket. It
does not matter how many cores are in the cpu that is in that socket, any
edition of Vista will see the cores. The Business editions of Vista support
two sockets. It is exactly the same as with XP Home and XP Pro. More than
two sockets requires an edition of Server.
