multiple problems

hi, i'm having 2 problems and hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance
1-Security update # 823559 will not install,specificallly,
i install & download & reboot as recommended, but when I
go back to windows update & the scan my computer for
latest updates, this update #823559 is still showing as
needing to be downloaded, i've tried to install several
times over a 2 week period

2- i am continually getting a pop up window saying IE has
an error and a report has been generated & asking to send
ot not to send to microsoft, when i look at the details of
the error it gives me this info:
Error Signature, AppName=iexpore.exe,
ModName=Kernel32.dll, Exception info= 0xc0000005, flags=
0x00000000, address= 0xffffffffbff7a379

any help on either issue wld be greatly appreciated.
