When released I want to use 2 PowerPoints:

2003 for me
2000 for teaching others how to use powerpoint.

Is it going to be possible to run them both on the same laptop?

Morris,

I don't know the answer to that until powerpoint 2003 is released.

Previous version would run quite happily if you installed the oldest first.
And into different directories.

e.g.
c:\program files\office200\
c:\program files\officeXP\

But there is no guarantee office 2003 will behave!

I currently have PowerPoint 2000, 2002, and 2003 installed on the two
different systems and have had no problems. I have been running PowerPoint
2003 with the others since about February, and have used all versions
extensively, so I would say they've been tested together with good results
for an ample period of time.

Install 2000 first then 2003. Oldest first, always.

When you install 2003, do a custom install and make sure you tell it NOT to
update/upgrade/whatever your earlier PPT versions. Install to a different
folder. Otherwise it'll stomp the earlier version.

You may lose your icons for starting the earlier version. It's easy enough
to create new ones, so NBD.

PPT files will become associated with the new version; to open them in the
older version, you'll have to start it, then do File, Open. You may have to
explain why you're doing this else your students may assume you're a bit
daft. ;-)
