I have been asked to create a chart which tells us how much we pay per helpdesk call in any given month. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to create a bar graph using more than two pieces of data. I woudlappreciate any kick in the right direction. Maybe I am just not interpreting the data from the right angle. Here is what I have

Months Number of calls Monthly $ Cost per cal
1 9,835 $89,000.00 $9.05
2 11,256 $79,000.00 $7.02
3 10,568 $56,252.00 $5.32
4 7,582 $56,214.00 $7.41
5 12,235 $100,000.00 $8.17
6 9,002 $78,562.00 $8.73
7 11,256 $78,526.00 $6.98
8 10,895 $78,954.00 $7.25
9 10,756 $36,258.00 $3.37
10 9,952 $56,984.00 $5.73
11 10,849 $78,549.00 $7.24
12 11,259 $75,684.00 $6.72

We want to be able to chart cost per call with all of teh given information. Thank you!

Hi Lisa,
Because the range of the three sets of data (number, total cost, average
cost) are very different and because they are three very different things, I
would suggest you plot number and total cost.
Assuming row 1 has labels, A2:A13 has month values, B2:B13 has Number,
C2:C13 has Total$, D2:D13 Cost/call
1) Select A1:C13 and make a Column chart
2) On the chart, right click on the Total series, select Chart Type from
popup menu and make Line type
3) On the chart, right click on the Total series, select Format Data Series
from popup menu, open Axis tab and check Secondary Axis
4) On the chart, right click on secondary y axis, set max to 20,000 and
format as Currency with no decimals
Make other adjustments as needed
Come back if more questions

Best wishes
Bernard

Lisa -

You could chart any two of the columns, then use the third as data
labels for one of the series. Use Rob Bovey's Chart Labeler
(http://appspro.com) or John Walkenbach's Chart Tools
(http://j-walk.com) to apply labels in the worksheet to a series.
