Multiple pages per sheet?

To comp.periphs.printers --

I have an HP Deskjet 3320 printer attached to my Win-XP-Home PC. I'd like to
be able to print multiple (2, 4) pages per sheet. HP tech support tells me
this cannot be done with this printer. HOWEVER, I'd like to know if anyone
knows of a "workaround" that would allow me to do this. I also have Adobe
Acrobat 4.0 on my PC, if this helps.

Thanks very much!

OK, thanks for the below suggestions! BUT ... would anyone know of a, er,
*free* way to do what I want (print multiple pages per sheet)? Again, I do
have Adobe Acrobat 4.0 on my PC. Thanks again! --Tom

Uhhh, I've been doing it FREE for years on my Mac. Up to 16 pages on one
printed page. But you better have a magnifying glass for print that small.

You can use fineprint or something related to postscript (such as
a2ps and then print throught ghostscript). First choice is more
windows-like.

You could could try Print File http://www.lerup.com/printfile/...I don't
know if it will do exactly what you want but its worth a look.

It is because Mac uses postscript, previous versions of windows did it
too - for postscript printers.

A) if you want 2 or 4 copies of the _same_ page per sheet,
this workaround should work w/ any word processor, even
Word. OK for a short doc, but obviously a PITA for a longer
one.

a) Subdivide Page (2 cols in landscape for 2up, 2 cols x 2
rows in portrait for 4-up) and adjust margins

b) Highlight and Copy page one

c) Position cursor on first pane, and Paste.

d) Repeat for other pane(s)

e) Repeat for next page

B) If you want to print a booklet at 2 or 4 pages per sheet
on each side, Wordperfect will do it for you automatically.
Just Select page size and orientation, Subdivide, adjust
margins as needed, import or produce your text, and tell WP
to print as booklet (under Options). Pagination is a
breeze, too. 2 pages per side is easy, 4 pages per side
requires some folding and cutting.
