Multiple pages open problem

Hello,
I've been having a problem with IE 6 lately. I'll open a
page, or will just go from one page to another, and it'll
cause an almost unlimited number of IE pages to open, with
a DNS error, I believe. It has happened on a number of
different pages, so it's not just the same site causing
this every time. I usually have to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to
close the program down cause I'm unable to stop it. Any
idea what could be causing this?
