Multiple occurences of a table in the Relationship Window. Why?

I am just reading Alison Balter's Mastering Access 2000 Development.
On page 70, she mentions that Access 2000 will allow me to place
multiple occurences of a table in the Relationship Window. She says to
delete the extra occurences. She doesn't say why.

Is there some utility in having a table there more than once?

Can I establish a relationship within a table?

If there is no use for it, why does Access permit it?

You might have an employee table that is related to a timekeeping table and
a committee membership table. This would cause two copies of the employee
table since the timekeeping table is not related to the committe membership
table.

Is this a limitation of the Relationship Window itself (won't allow
more than one linking line to go into a single field) or of Access
(only one relationship with each field)?

In the situation that I mentioned, you would expect to have two copies since
if you only had one, it would create a relationship between the timekeeping
and committee membership tables which aren't related.

I expect this behavior and don't see anything wrong with it. I'm not sure
why Alison Balter suggests deleting an instance of a table in the
relationship window.
